Jesuit College of Spirituality is pleased to offer a Semester 2 unit on ‘Gospel Narratives in Ignatian Contemplation’ that will be taught by Rev Dr Richard Leonard SJ.
The unit will also explore and analyse the ways in which the cinema can provide examples of imaginative prayer techniques that connect scenes in particular films with some key narratives and themes within Gospel narratives and the Spiritual Exercises. It will explore the psychology of the human imagination and its relevance to the practice of prayer in life, work and ministry.
The unit will be run as two ‘intensive’ blocks i.e. Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th July and then Friday 30th, Saturday 31st August and Sunday 1st September.
- the unit can be taken for academic credit or not-for-credit (audit)
- the unit can be attended face-to-face (in Parkville, Melbourne) or is available to online students (or a mixture of both)
- the unit can be taken within the Spirituality and Spiritual Direction pathways
- intensive mode – 5 days in July, August, September
